My friendships have always been very important to me. I love to do things for my friends and family members, from hosting parties to simply meeting up for long coffee dates. But of course, the pandemic interrupted my social calendar in a big way. Suddenly, I couldn’t be there for any of my loved ones! So, like most people stuck at home during that strange time, I turned to my kitchen to comfort both me and the people in my life.
I made so many baked goods during those first months of quarantine! I’d bake pies and drop them on my friends’ and family members’ porches, always with a sweet note of encouragement. And it seemed like people really appreciated my efforts; I got tons of sweet phone calls and messages from people thanking me for brightening their day during this dark time.
But a few months into my baking crusade, disaster struck. My teenage son accidentally left my dough blade on a lit burner on our electric stove… for two hours! The poor blade was practically melted into a puddle when I got home (and you’d better believe my son was grounded)!
Suddenly, I was unable to make my signature pies. I was so frustrated, because it felt like my ability to make my friends happy was hamstrung — and this was a time when making others happy was most important! And to make matters worse, this was early in the lockdowns in my area. Going to a store for a replacement was nearly impossible!
After some thought, I decided that the best thing to do was look for a replacement dough blade online. I looked at eBay and Amazon, but I wasn’t totally sure if the blades I found would fit my specific machine. Plus, they were way too expensive!
I actually found Kitchen Works by accident. I was looking for a way to identify the model I needed for my Cuisinart food processor parts when I came across a blog that explained exactly that. It turned out that the blog was posted by Kitchen Works — and that they had an inventory full of replacement parts! I was so impressed by their helpfulness that I decided to check out their blades, and I was not disappointed.
First of all, I was excited to see that the parts at Kitchen Works are direct from the Cuisinart warehouse, so you know you’re getting the genuine article. I didn’t have to worry about knockoffs with inferior quality! And the prices were so great! I was able to order two blades, just in case my son forgets to turn off the burner again.
My new dough blades arrived in a reasonable time frame and in great condition. They fit perfectly with my machine — in fact, I was able to make a pie that very afternoon! Big thanks to Kitchen Works, Inc. for their help in restoring my baking hobby this year. I’ll never forget how much this made my quarantine experience better!
