The Ultimate Fighting Championship gives its wrestlers ample moments to raise the bar of Mixed Martial Arts, and Colby Covington is looking forward to doing the same. According to the latest UFC News, the American MMA star is eyeing to become the real Triple Champion in the history of UFC. this is quite different from Henry Cejudo’s Triple C status, which he gave himself after having won the Olympic medal, Flyweight Title and Bantamweight Title. It is interesting to note that Colbt Covington has already held one title, that is the Welterweight Championship although he was later stripped off because he was only an interim champion.
This update came from Colby Covington himself, when he was talking about his future goals at UFC. He already had a heated interaction with the reigning Welterweight champion at the post match show of UFC Fight Night in August 2019, and Colby says he can take on the Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman very easily to revive the glory of Welterweight strap. These wrestlers are all set to take on each other at UFC 244 on 2 November 2019, at Madison Square Garden.
Colby also said that once he is done with Kamaru Usman, he would go on to capture the Lightweight Championship from Khabib Nurmagomedov and the Middleweight Championship from Robert Whittaker as well, which will make him a real Champ Champ Champ in the UFC. If Colby becomes successful at this goal of his, he will be the first UFC star to do so. During an interview, he said, “I want to be champ-champ-champ, the first ever. I’m already breaking all of the history books. In my last fight’s it was the most significant strikes ever thrown. The first family was front row, I got a call from the president.”
Colby Covington was determined to get a call from the White House, and President Donald Trump had himself tweeted about him, with the members of the First Family at the ringside while he was in his last match. Similarly, he looks very much determined to get his hands on the three belts, although the possessors of the belts would change hands now or then.
